Prevent the sleeve from moving
Too much exposed flexible shaft near the drill is a weak point because if the shaft should stop suddenly, and the torque limiter does not engage in time, the exposed section of shaft is the most likely place where the shaft could kink. Keep the section of exposed drain cleaning shaft (without a sleeve) near the drill end of your shaft to a minimum with this shaft lock.
Whilst the sleeve movement has very little impact on your shafts performance, some clients prefer to have an exposed section of shaft (without the sleeve) on the tool end. This lock will allow you to achieve this.
Protect your chains
Feedback from clients indicates that some clients add a shaft lock to the front or in the middle of their drain chains (without a drill head) to give the chain a bevelled surface when navigating around elbows in drain pipes.
Please note that we sell them as a set of two locks i.e. a pair.
The locks are made from stainless steel to prevent corrosion, and they are tightened on to the flexible shaft with set screws.
